NORTHFIELD FIRE DEPARTMENT
BURN PERMITS
YOU MUST BE GRANTED PERMISSION TO HAVE A CONTROLLED BURN.
Permits can be obtained by using the online form at www.fcburnpermits.com or by calling the Northfield Fire Chief at his residence.
Burning without a permit will result in a response from the fire department and possible fines may be enforced.
DO NOT CALL 911 OR THE NORTHFIELD FIRE DEPT. FOR PERMITS.
Northfield residents may obtain a permit to burn brush outside. Burning season runs from January 15 to May 1st.
Brush Burn Permits are granted on a day-to-day basis, depending on the current day's weather conditions.
Once granted burns will start at 10 am and must be under control/extinguished by 4 pm.
A brush burn means exactly that. It is a permit to burn ordinary brush from your property.
Items that are not to be burned are:
• Construction materials
• Lumber
• Tires
• Trash
